The “Two worlds collide” collection was inspired by an image seen on social networks, in which two types of artists were illustrated and the contrast between their clothing and the paintings they create. This image raised a real issue for me, existing throughout human society, not only among artists, which is that we are tempted to judge people by the way they dress, putting certain labels on them. Another source of inspiration is a digital work I made that look born listening to Demi Lovato’s song “Two worlds collide”.

The main focus of this look was to use various knitting techniques. The process relied on using a knitting loom to execute multiple rectangular pieces in various colors. Those pieces were then attached together to create the dress.
The look was inspired by geometric shapes. The ensemble was put together by having upcycled pants added to its fringes from around the waist and on the sides punch-needle rectangular pieces. The top as well was made by using the punch needle technique. The design relied on creating some sort of confusion. This is because of the cuts and the warm colors used yet the yarns that were used in the punch needle were made out of wool.

The blazer was cut into a new length and different slashes were made. Two straight cuts were made in the front while an arc cut in the back just below the shoulders. Yarns were then added to the blazer using various techniques.
